The Obama administration is considering a plan to charge the private health insurance of veterans for treatment of service-related ailments that currently are paid for by the Department of Veterans Affairs – a potential change that has veterans’ groups outraged. “Such a consideration is wholly unacceptable and a total abrogation of our government’s moral obligation and legal responsibility to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom,” said a letter to President Barack Obama signed by the leaders of 11 prominent veteran organizations.
If I recall the figures correctly, there are 24 million veterans in the United States. Compare this with the number of illegal aliens, probable around 16 millions or more then the number of veterans.
I don’t know anyone that said that the people here illegally, are lazy, refuse to work and just stay on welfare! So, believing, that illegal aliens work hard and make a contribution to the well being of the citizens living in this great country, for the most part is true, I agree with the fact that the works done by illegal aliens are jobs required in this country. Yet when compared with the veterans, that not only work hard and smart in this country; but also defend this country by volunteering to train, fight and in many cases die so that we can live free and peacefully. Yet, almost monthly someone from the President down to office clerks tries to find some benefits they can take from the veterans or denied them. While it seems like the whole nation is mobilized to provide every care the illegal aliens need or desire.
