As longtime readers know I’m not exactly a fan of Donald Trump or his attached enormous ego. But I have to give him credit for doing the right thing. He moved the Miss Universe Pageant from Dubai, after Dubai said the country would not allow the pageant to go on with Miss Israel in it–something about not wanting pretty women to enter the Arab Muslim world.
On the other hand, Trump had no choice. Many of his business partners are Jews, as are many of the people with whom he socializes on the Manhattan rich people’s cocktail circuit. Still, perhaps I’m giving both Trump and New York Jews too much credit. I doubt they’d shun him if he went on with the pageant excluding the Jew (although Miss Israel has been a Muslim Arab before, such as Rana Raslan). They really don’t care a whit about anti-Semitism or anti-Israel sentiment. Look who most of ‘em voted for in the Presidential election.

Minnesota’s highest court on Wednesday ruled against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman’s attempt to keep dozens of possible double votes from Democratic-heavy precincts out of the long-running U.S. Senate recount, but left the door open for a lawsuit. The state Supreme Court unanimously denied Coleman’s request for a temporary restraining order to block the votes, which the Coleman campaign contended were duplicates that mostly favored Democratic rival Al Franken. The court upheld the state Canvassing Board’s ruling on the matter. The court’s decision leaves Coleman with fewer ways to make up ground in the recount, where he now trails Franken by 47 votes. But Associate Justice Alan Page made it clear the issue of duplicate ballots was unresolved and said the court’s ruling was not binding in a future lawsuit.
At Newsbusters What About the Democrats’ ‘Culture of Corruption?’ We are now a week into the wall-to-wall coverage of the tape recorded fall of Senate seat auctioneer and sometime Illinois Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich. But there has always been a distinctly different tenor from the media in stories involving scandalized Democrats compared to their reports on corrupt Republicans.
During the 2006 mid-term elections, the news world was saturated with talk of a GOP “Culture of Corruption,” a Democratic slogan repeated incessantly by the traditional media. The press cast three bad Congressmen and a single scamming lobbyist as representative of an entire Party gone bad, and their incessant drumbeat helped drive the GOP out of power.
Meanwhile, one prominent Democrat after another has been tinged with scandal, but the media has yet to stamp their Party as “Culturally Corrupt.”

Dec. 3, 2008 On Dec. 3rd. Justice Clarence Thomas issued an order which will require the full supreme court to hear a certiori claim filed by a New Jersey attorney, after the initial petition was rejected by Justice David Souter. Thomas’s action is unusual as a rejection by one Justice of the Supreme Court traditional kills the matter. While technically Rule 22 allows such a writ to be refilled with another Justice, tradition and respect for the original Justice mandates that such second filings be rejected out of hand.
The writ sought seeks the delay of the meeting of the Electoral College scheduled for Dec. 15th. The full court has set a conference hearing on the petition for Dec. 5th.
Leo Donofrio claims that Barack Obama is not a “natural born U.S. citizen” because his father was from Kenya.
U.S. law has long held that anyone born in the United States under the doctrine of jus soli anyone born in the U.S. is automatically a U.S. citizen even if neither parent is a U.S. citizen.
All eyes will be on the Supreme Court Friday when an eight member panel will consider a lawsuit challenging the legal status of President-elect Barack Obama.
The Afro American Newspapers first reported the story on it’s website Wednesday night, calling Justice Clarence Thomas’ action highly unusual.
The same case was rejected by Judge David Souter earlier in the year.
When Thomas agreed to hear the appeal he apparently broke with a court tradition of justices not interceding in cases where a colleague has ruled.
The President-elect has maintained he was born in the United States.
President-elect Barack Obama and the Democratic National Convention have let a Dec. 1 deadline slip by without responding to Pennsylvania attorney Philip J. Berg’s petition for writ of certiorari demanding Obama produce a legitimate birth certificate to document his eligibility for office. While the Federal Election Commission waived its right to respond to the complaint on Nov. 18, the solicitor general’s office is refusing to say whether the waiver was also filed on behalf of Obama and the DNC.
Presidential candidates are vetted by voters at least twice – first in the primary elections and again in the general election. President-Elect Obama won the Democratic Party’s nomination after one of the most fiercely contested presidential primaries in American history. And, he has now been duly elected by the majority of voters in the United States. Throughout both the primary and general election, concerns about Mr. Obama’s birthplace were raised. The voters have made clear their view that Mr. Obama meets the qualifications to hold the office of President. After he is sworn into office, Mr. Obama will be our nation’s President and I intend to bestow upon him the honor and respect due any man who holds that Office. Yet, I am certain that there will be times when I will disagree and oppose President Obama’s policies. When that happens, you can be assured that I will pursue vigorously what I believe to be in the best interest of Florida and the nation.

Why has every major news source in the United States almost totally blacked out all reference to the Hawaiian Obama birth certificate controversy? In layman’s terms the mainstream media may be afraid of showing up with egg on its face. Yet, the question about the allegedly fraudulent COLB (certificate of live birth) doesn’t want to go away. It is more than simple curiosity that is driving the quest; it is a strong desire for the truth and the hope of avoiding a constitutional crisis that would be unparalleled in our entire history as a nation.
Besides the obvious, like the fear of embarrassment some have suggested that it is an attitude of “possession is nine tenths of the law.” He won a landslide; America has spoken so why bother with insignificant howbeit bothersome minor details. He has got the ball so let him run with it!

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.”

Less than half of those surveyed, or 47 per cent, said they were prepared to make personal lifestyle changes to reduce carbon emissions, down from 58 per cent last year. Only 37 per cent said they were willing to spend “extra time” on the effort, an eight-point drop. And only one in five respondents – or 20 per cent – said they’d spend extra money to reduce climate change. That’s down from 28 per cent a year ago.
The Canadian results, from a poll of 1,000 respondents conducted in September, were virtually identical to the overall figures. There are no comparative figures for Canada because Canadians weren’t included in the global study in 2007.
“You want to hit the Pentagon. You can put the bottle on it, the blue bottle, and hit the Pentagon.”– Amjad Hamed, as quoted in a U.S. District Court affidavit. Two Annandale men have been arrested in an FBI sting that uncovered visa fraud, gun smuggling and references to Lebanon, Yasir Arafat and bombing the Pentagon with a missile. Hamed provided the informant with six valid Palestinian passports and asked him to obtain U.S. visas for them. According to the affidavit, Hamed revealed that he was part of an international visa fraud scheme. “I challenge anyone in the world who can bring so many passports without being inspected,” he is quoted as saying. Hamed is also quoted as saying he was a member of the Palestinian Authority who met regularly with Yasir Arafat.
MUMBAI, India (AP) – Indian commandoes fought Thursday to wrest control of two luxury hotels and a Jewish center from suspected Muslim militants, a day after a chain of attacks across Mumbai left at least 119 people dead and the city shellshocked. State officials said 119 people had died and 288 were injured.
Their main targets appeared to be Americans, Britons and Jews, though most of the dead seemed to be Indians and foreign tourists caught in the random gunfire.
Diagnoses Of Cancer Decline in The U.S.
The pace at which Americans are getting cancer has started to decline, marking what could be a long-awaited turning point in the battle against the disease, according to an annual report that tracks progress in the war on cancer. Cancer deaths have also continued a decline that began in the early 1990s, meaning that for the first time both trend lines are dropping.
